Is it Okay To Be Angry in a World Full of Beautiful Things?
Anger is often noted as a negative emotion, something which we should hide or supress in order to keep on moving. The world is a beautiful place; full of new beginnings, opportunity and hopes. But should we ignore our true feelings of disappointment, loss and injustice.
I am angry at the world. For everything it has thrown my way. It’s avoiding an inevitable hit to the stomach every day. You could argue that the world in which we live on is simply the reason we exist so why shouldn’t we be grateful? Well, there’s also a simple answer… this world is unfair.
Have you ever had something happen in your life where you think to yourself “why me?” or the famous saying of bad things always happen to good people. I don’t know what the reasoning behind these happenings are. But I sure hope that there is one.
I am angry at the world. For what they have put my family through. For the people they have taken away from me. For not giving me answers when I am on my knees begging. I am angry in a world that I love with everything I have. Sometimes I think anger is as strong as love. I hope one day my love for life can overcome my anger for it however, I’m still searching for the answers that are declined.
I am trying to find a moral high ground within my anger. A pros and cons list some may say. But it’s hard for the good to overcome when the bad is too much. I am angry at the world.
So, to answer your question, yes, I think it is okay to be angry at the world and still be grateful nonetheless. We live in a world where it is anger vs wonder. It is a wonderous place yet so evil at the same time. If you are ever angry at the world, allow yourself to be. If you ever feel selfish for feeling this way, allow it anyways. Being angry doesn’t always need to be a negative thing. Sometimes being angry helps us release emotion so we can go back to appreciating the good. Appreciate what the world has done for us.
